Summer is all about making memories—pool days, family cookouts, road trips, and of course, favorite summer treats! ☀️🍉🌭

As your little ones enjoy all the fun that summer has to offer, it's important to keep choking hazards in mind. Many common summer snacks and activities can be made safer with a few simple modifications.

Reduce choking risks by:
✔️ Eating while sitting
✔️ Quartering grapes and cherries
✔️ Cutting hot dogs into strips, not rounds
✔️ Choosing age-appropriate alternatives to popcorn, nuts, and hard candies
✔️ Preparing raw vegetables safely
✔️ Being mindful of non-food hazards like balloons, water beads, and small craft supplies

A few extra seconds of preparation can make a big difference in keeping kids safe while they enjoy summer fun.
Save this post for later and share it with grandparents, babysitters, caregivers, and friends who will be spending time with little ones this summer! 💙
